Investigation Procedures
1. The site of the investigation
will first be mapped out for planning purposes by providing some sort of
descriptive name for each room or area of the site. This is for the purpose
of defining where things take place during the investigation.
2. Team members are assigned their
tasks.
3. An initial sweep of the site
takes place with portable gear, such as EMF detectors, temp gages, cameras,
audio and video recorders, etc. The primary purpose of the initial sweep is
to gather baseline information on EMF levels and temperatures, as well as to
establish potential places to conduct stationary study.
4. Stationary equipment is
dispatched to areas as needed. For the second sweep, motion detectors (when
used) are deployed to stationary study areas with other stationary
equipment. Stationary equipment is deployed to areas where the most
paranormal activity is said to take place and in places where a lot of
anomalous activity has occurred during the initial sweep.
5. Stationary study takes place in
designated areas after the second sweep.
6. During stationary study, team
members gather into a single location that has been designated as a
stationary study area. Everyone sits quietly to observe any anomalous
activity, with equipment in use during this time. Communication should be
kept to an absolute minimum. One team member will be designated to ask
questions aloud for the purpose of gathering possible EVPs.
